So, I have been trying to learn some Middle Eastern cooking from my mother in law. I often play around with the spices and do more fusion than making the traditional dishes. To be honest I have been a little gun shy about preparing these because I don’t want to fail. Silly me! I made my husband grape leaves, and guess what? I didn’t fail, and he loved them. I am definitely my biggest critic and wasn’t completely satisfied with them because I put a little too much rice in them so some exploded. Lesson was learned and now I know what I need to do to perfect them. I personally don’t think they are as good as my MILs but they were pretty darn good.
